Helping Without Hurting Class (In Person) April 6 - May 11, 2021 / Bluebonnet Room

This class will meet IN PERSON.

This 6-week class is the starting point for participating in our Family Mentoring Ministry. Based on the book When Helping Hurts, we explore a Biblical approach to understanding poverty and working with the materially poor to bring hope and dignity. This group class - facilitated by OHC's Outreach Staff - will help you explore ways to apply foundational poverty concepts in our church and community. Together, learn how poverty results from broken relationships and discover how you can join in Jesus' work of restoring that brokenness.

We will meet together on Tuesday nights at Oak Hills Church from 6:30-8:00pm, from April 6 through May 11.

Our first session—April 6— will provide an overview for those that have an interest and have more questions. The actual class will begin on April 13 and continue through May 11 at 6:30 p.m. Please register regardless is you plan to only attend the Interest Meeting, or attend the entire session. This will allow us to communicate with you as necessary.

We will use 2 books as our curriculum:

- When Helping Hurts, the Book - How to alleviate poverty without hurting the poor and yourself

- When Helping Hurts Study Guide - The small group experience provides homework and discussion for participants
