Del Rio / Ciudad Acuna MDC: Dec. 8-10, 2023 (2359)
Trip Focus: Distribution of Manos de Cristo boxes in Mexico from the OHC Spanish Worship & Westside Campus.
OHC short term mission teams partner with Reaching Across Ministries who have extensive relationships with churches and pastors in the Texas / Mexico border region. We serve alongside Rick Lay and local pastors in the Ciudad Acuna / Del Rio area. One specific ministry that our team will serve is Missionary Hortencia Pichardo who serves underprivileged children through after school ministry programs.
The team will distribute 400 +/- Manos de Cristo boxes collected from the OHC Westside Campus and Mi Tierra Restaurant employees to share God’s love and blessings with these children. In addition, MDC boxes will be shared with OHC Missionary Jose Luis Estrada for his Monclova church community outreach. We will use this opportunity to share the gospel message with these children and their families through skits, songs, and other creative activities.
Trip Details:
Lodging: The team stays at a Del Rio based church facility both nights
Meals: Breakfast and dinner are included each day, with sandwiches and chips for lunch
Trip Cost: $200 1st Person,
$100 each additional family member
All inclusive: Meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, and ministry supplies.
ITINERARY (Tentative)
December 8 (Travel Day): Depart San Antonio, 3 PM from OHC Westside Campus. Travel in OHC sponsored passenger vans. The team will eat in route, arrive in Del Rio, and check into the church facility.
December 9 (Ministry Day): Breakfast in Del Rio. Drive across the border into Ciudad Acuna. Children’s Ministry and distribution of MDC boxes with Missionary Hortencia Pichardo. Return to Del Rio for meal and spend the night.
December 10 (Ministry/Travel Day): Breakfast in Del Rio. Drive across the border into Ciudad Acuna. Church service, Children’s Ministry, and distribution of MDC boxes at a Ciudad Acuna church. Depart to San Antonio.
