Helping without Hurting - Family MentoringHelping Without Hurting: this 6-week class is the starting point for participating in our Family Mentoring Ministry. Based on the book When Helping Hurts, we explore a Biblical approach to understanding poverty and working with the materially poor to bring hope and dignity. This group class - facilitated by OHC's Outreach Staff - will help you explore ways to apply foundational poverty concepts in our church and community. Together, learn how poverty results from broken relationships and discover how you can join in Jesus' work of restoring that brokenness. We will meet together on Tuesday nights at Oak Hills Church from 6:30-8:00pm, from April 6 through May 11. We will use 2 books as our curriculum (When Helping Hurts, How to alleviate poverty without hurting the poor and yourself, and When Helping Hurts Study Guide - The small group experience provides homework and discussion for participants).
